USAF Tactical Air Control Party Specialist (TACP) black, unlined beret. Ordering options include Beret with Flash and/or your Pin-On Crest.

Within the Air Force only select units have the honor to wear a beret and TACP is one of them. The black wool beret is part of the standard USAF TACP uniform.

Our berets from Kingform Cap Company use only premium quality components to meet or exceed the standard quality specified in commercial A-A-55184. They are manufactured in accordance with MIL-B-43172 and completely made in the U.S.A.

The black beret was first authorized for wear by enlisted personnel in the Tactical Air Control Party in 1979. Air Liaison Officers (ALOs) are also authorized to wear the black beret after graduating from the Joint Firepower Control Course.

    TACP beret

This beret is just as good as the issued ones. After a good shave, it’s easy to form, and seems to be made from quality material.

A really great beret. Unfortunately I’ve had to buy a few of these over the years & this is by far the best I’ve purchased in the last 19 years. Thanks Kellac for keeping up w/ American made quality products

    Flash Backing

Posted by Orlando on Oct 30, 2020

Backing is to thick for the insignia to be pinned all the way through making it hard if not impossible for the backs to stay in place.

Fit of the head gear was spot on.

Overall excellent product. A metal crest device was applied but the hard board backing in the inside of the beret prevented the pin clasps from working. The backing board is too thick. Any suggestions. RESPONSE FROM KEL-LAC: Hi sir, you shouldn't need to punch through the hard cardboard backing - it is there to act as a barrier between your scalp and the clasps. Affix the pin-on through the patch and fabric only.
